My Digital Studio (MDS) Bridal Shower Card

My pastor is getting married in June so the women of our church held a bridal shower for his fiancé .  This is the card I made for the bride-to-be.  I love the way it came out!  I wish I had remembered what the theme and colors were going to be.  As it turns out the theme was “A Night in Paris “.  Now I wish I had used the Eiffel Tower from the MDS stamp brush set Artistic Etchings.  However, since I didn’t remember, I thought the set I used was perfect for the occasion.  What sets  did I use, you ask??  Wedding Sweet and Well-Scripted are the MDS stamp brush sets that I used.  God’s Blessings is the stamp set used for the inside sentiment and is on page 151 of the2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.

This card is what is referred to as a Hybrid card because although it is created and printed using My Digital Studio, it also uses products to create dimension.  I used half-back pearls on the front of the card and could have used a touch of ribbon to create the bow as well.  I did print this card using my own printer and I chose Concord Crush as the background color.

Stamp for a Diabetes Cure

Stamp for a Cure!

 

I have decided to make this project in honor of my daughter Ashley. For those of you who have not heard my five year old daughter, Ashley, has recently been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. She is an amazing kid and continues to impress us with her great attitude towards this disease. ALL proceeds from this project will go directly to the American Diabetes Association in Ashleys' name!

The purses are approximately 7" across x 4 1/2" tall x 4" deep. They will easily fit many cards and envelopes inside and would be great to hold swaps!

I Haven't Forgotten You--I'm still buried in boxes!

Right after my recent move, my friend, Lori, agreed to host an open house in her home on Feb. 10th. The projects were enjoyed by everyone. Here are pictures of the items we made: The treat bag was made using the "Yummy" Sale-A-Bration set (pg.3 SAB mini catalog) which is one of six items you receive FREE with each purchase of $50 in Stampin' Up! merchandise. If you're a hostess during Sale-A-Bration (SAB), you also earn a FREE SAB item with a workshop order of $300.00 (2 Free items with $600 in sales and so on.) This card was made using the Polka Dot Punches stamp set (pg. 9), the Ribbon Bundle (pg. 5), and the Delicate Dots DSP--Designer Series Paper (pg. 8). The designs from the Polka Dot Punches set coordinate perfectly with the 5-Petal Flower punch, the Circle punch, the Scallop Circle punch and our NEW Full Heart punch (punches are on pg. 184 of the IB&Catalog). Goodness, How Time Does Fly!!

I really hope this entry finds you all well and in anticipation of viewing our new Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog. I think I'm finally on the up side of getting well and am looking forward to distributing catalogs to all of my wonderful customers.

Just a quick heads up to let you know that I will be moving over the next week or so, but I'm planning an OPEN HOUSE at Lori Proskey's house (3370 Dove Lane, Mulberry, FL) on Tuesday, February 10th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. You will have an opportunity to make 2 cards using 2 of the sets from the Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalog. Remember, during Sale-A-Bration with each purchase of $50 in merchandise, you will receive your choice of one item from the SAB mini catalog.
