2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog Sneak Peek

I'm so excited about our new catalog which will go live in July. However, Stampin' Up! has given demonstrators permission to deliver our new catalog as early as June 20, 2011 to HOSTESSES who book a workshop in July.
There's also great news about Hostess Benefits! They're better than ever--you will now earn Hostess Dollars which can be used to select special stamp sets designed with the Hostess in mind OR you can use the Hostess Dollars to purchase anything from the catalog.  Call me @ 863-984-3325 to schedule your July workshop.
Now it's time to reveal my most recent card creations.

Customer Inspiration

Just wanted to share with everyone the few cards that I've made recently.  The first two cards were made for a card swap that participated in at the Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar in Orlando this year (March 26).

I used Daffodil Delight card stock (cs), layered with Certainly Celery cs, Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP), Tangerine Tango cs, and Whisper White cs.  The finishing accents are the bow made with Certainly Celery Seam Binding and attached with a Mini Glue Dot and the flower from Fabulous Florets which was stamped, cut out and then attached using Stampin' Dimensionals for a 3-D effect.  The words stamped on the Certainly Celery cs are also included in the Fabulous Florets stamp set featured in the current Summer Mini Catalog.
The Hybrid card to the far right was made after I purchased Sail Away, The Open Sea Stamp Brush Set, Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper, and Cherry Cobbler/White Baker's Twine from the Summer Mini Catalog.  The Open Sea and Nautical Expedition DSP are digital downloads for My Digital Studio (MDS).  The first thing I did was print out the compass from the Open Sea set in MDS and a portion of one of the designer papers included in the Nautical Expedition DSP.  I stamped the sail boat on watercolor paper and mounted it on Early Espresso cs.  The entire card front as you see it was then mounted to Whisper White cs.

The lighting on this card is not great but you can at least see what I'm going to tell you about.  This Thinking of You card was made using yet another new item from the Summer Mini Catalog.  I started with the new Big Shot 'Flower Garden' Textured Embossing Folder.  I ran Whisper White cs through the embossing folder and then used Sponge Daubers and Marina Mist and Old Olive Classic Ink Pads to color the raised image that was created by the embossing folder.  I tied a piece of Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon around the embossed layer and the Beyond the Garden DSP before mounting them to the Marina Mist cs base.  The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White cs using Marina Mist ink and then punched with the 1 3/8" x 5/8" Oval Large.  I then sponged the edges with Marina Mist ink and mounted it with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I was really excited about the introduction of the Triple Layer Punches and decided to make the focus
of this card the Triple Layer Punches.  I do not however like the color combination that I chose.  It doesn't show well in this photo.  In addition to using the Triple Layer Punches (Doily & Blossom Bouquet), I also used the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label Punch.  There is a trick to make these punches longer as shown but it would be too difficult to put it into written word.  With that said, feel free to call me and I will explain exactly how I made the punches fit the sentiment from Fabulous Florets.  The designer paper is from Beyond the Garden.

My Digital Studio (MDS) Bridal Shower Card

May 24, 2011

My pastor is getting married in June so the women of our church held a bridal shower for his fiancĂ© .  This is the card I made for the bride-to-be.  I love the way it came out!  I wish I had remembered what the theme and colors were going to be.  As it turns out the theme was “A Night in Paris “.  Now I wish I had used the Eiffel Tower from the MDS stamp brush set Artistic Etchings.  However, since I didn’t remember, I thought the set I used was perfect for the occasion.  What sets  did I use, you ask??  Wedding Sweet and Well-Scripted are the MDS stamp brush sets that I used.  God’s Blessings is the stamp set used for the inside sentiment and is on page 151 of the2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.
This card is what is referred to as a Hybrid card because although it is created and printed using My Digital Studio, it also uses products to create dimension.  I used half-back pearls on the front of the card and could have used a touch of ribbon to create the bow as well.  I did print this card using my own printer and I chose Concord Crush as the background color.
Feel free to shoot me an email with creations you make, I’d love to see what you’ve created too!  I’m just a phone call away if you’d like to learn more about My Digital Studio.
